This school holidays our full day workshop, SHINE, we will explore identity, strengths, friendship, resilience, growth mindset and gratitude through active games, art/craft, drama, vibrant discussion and group work. We also have an awesome guided meditation session and the girls get to experience a beautiful and serene relaxation activity.
At Embrace we rotate different workshops throughout the year, all focusing on the same important topics but in each different workshop the activities change. At the moment, we are hosting the “Shine Girl” One Day Workshop for the January school holidays, but plan to facilitate “Glow Girl” workshops in the April school holidays. This way your daughter can attend the Shine or Glow Girl workshops without repeating the same activities. All the girls will receive a super cute gift bag and a Certificate of Completion at the end of the workshop.
All instructors are experts in their field and hold First Aid training, Police Clearance and Working With Children Checks.
Please note that our COVID-19 Plan is in place, to enable us to operate according to Government requirements.
The girls will gain a stronger sense of self which can contribute to healthy self-esteem. The more we understand ourselves and what brings us happiness and joy the more self-assured and secure we feel in ourselves.
Understanding our strengths both in character like being kind, caring or honest and in activity, like when we are doing things like school, sports, music or art. Identifying these strengths help us to build resilience in challenging times and supports our overall wellbeing.
Exploring mindfulness and relaxation the girls will learn strategies to calm the mind and body when they are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or stressed. The girls will participate in a beautiful, calm and tranquil guided meditation.
This is one of my favourite topics understanding the concepts of a Growth mindset and the process of “I can’t do this YET” helps the girls realise that every learning experience is a chance to grow and every mistake is normal! Progress not Perfection.
What makes a healthy positive friendship? What are the elements that we need to ensure we have positive healthy connections to our friends and family? The girls will work together to come up with the essential elements we need for positive relationships.
Appreciating diverse perspectives, different values, opinions and attitudes all form part of developing an awareness. Thinking about what is happening for others, considering their feelings, needs and interests the girls will come up with ways to manage friendship conflict and communicate effectively using empathy.
Unpacking all the different things that we are thankful for, our family, our friends, our community, our school etc. and given the year that was 2020 having a newfound appreciation for the little things in life that bring us joy. Writing down the things that we are grateful for contributes to a positive mindset as well an overall appreciation for life.
